Jocelyn Bonner

Jocelyn Bonner, MD attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, Duke University Medical School in Durham, NC and completed her psychiatry training at the University of Pittsburgh in PA. She spent the majority of her career in public community mental health clinics and as a private practitioner. Now retired, Jocelyn is a volunteer advocate for the Saint Camille Association. She came to this work with a career-long passion to help low-income persons, and those belonging to historically marginalized groups. Once she learned of the plight of people with mental health challenges in West Africa, the choice of where to place her activism to change the status quo became obvious. This work aligns with her values of equal access to healthcare, autonomy and dignity for all.
